Genting Highlands is a place to be entertained. Genting Highlands was founded by the late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong. The idea of making a resort on a hill came from the fresh air in Cameron Highlands by the late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong in 1964. Tan Sri Lim then worked on a hydro-electric development project at a famous resort located in a hillside that protects most British colonizers seeking cool protection from tropical heat. At that time he thought it would be good if all Malaysians were able to go on vacation in highland resort areas. The first hotel developed in Genting Highlands was in 1971, the Highlands Hotel (now the Theme Park Hotel). Now Genting Highlands has five well known hotels – Genting Hotel, Highlands Hotel, Resort Hotel, Theme Park Hotel and First World Hotel.
